IMPORTANT NOTE ON LIBRARY CLOSURE:

 

Bismillah walhamdulillah was-salaatu was-salaamu 'ala Rasoolillah.  As of Safar 16th, 1431AH corresponding to February 1st, 2010, As-Sahaba Library has shut down its operation.  This was decided after long consideration by the administration of Dar As-Sahaba Association.  We are still maintaining As-Sahaba Musalla and focusing our efforts therein.

 

This page will be further updated in the near future.  The information below is only to show our previous activities at the former library.

 

Alhamdullillahi rabbil-'aalameen.  We praise and thank Allah in every situation as there is wisdom in everything that He Decrees. 

 

 

 

 

As-Sahaba Library was officially opened in 1999, one block west of Ottawa Main Masjid.  It has served the Muslims of Ottawa ever since, as a place for authentic literature and audio tapes on Islam both in Arabic and English.  There is also a bookstore containing items for sale, such as authentic books on Islam, audio CDs (Qur’an), Islamic attire, fragrances, etc.

FORMER Hours of Operation

 

We will be updating the brothers' & sisters' schedule in the near future, in-sha-Allah. Please keep checking the website (an email announcement will also be sent to you, in-sha-Allah).  (posted Oct. 1st, 2009)

 

The following time schedule for the brothers' & sisters' hour is valid until Ramadaan 1430AH – end of August, 2009, unless informed otherwise. 

 

The Sunday telelink and Friday BBQ are still valid unless otherwise informed.  Please check the news/updates section for the most current info.

 

Brothers’ Hours

Tuesday - Thursday:

6pm – 9pm (evenings)

Friday:

3pm – 9pm

Saturday:

12pm – 9pm

Sunday (daytime):

Sisters’ Hours

Sunday – Thursday:

12pm – 5pm (afternoons)

Sunday Telelink from As-Sahaba Musalla

The telelink from As-Sahaba Musalla on Sunday evenings is for both brothers and sisters (with partition/separation). Please see the lecture schedule for the class time.


Friday BBQ’s

The BBQ on Fridays are still available during the spring and summer times after salaatul-jumu’ah in front of the library.  All proceeds earned go to pay for the expenses of the library.


 

We ask you to please respect the time for both brothers & sisters as well as the library rules.  The library rules are posted on the walls of the library section and someone will be there to help you, in-sha-Allah.
